Book Review #2 : the Story of Chocolate

     Do you like chocolate? If your  answer is “Yes.”, I’d like to ask you, “How much do you know about chocolate?” 

     This time, I introduce a book, the Story of Chocolate. This book is written about chocolate a lot. For example, the history and the way of chocolate. I always eat it without thinking too much and I think you also do it. However, after reading it, you will get another perspective for chocolate. In my case, I became to consider it as a very valuable food because I could know it was used as money in the past. I can’t think at the moment, right?? In addition to this, you can learn a lot of differences between past and present from this book! Read it, please!

Lesson 3

  Today's lesson is about the effect of native languages. I was surprised that babies get rid of pronunciations which they don't need so we can't speak another languages well. I also think the differences between Japan and other countries in the class. For example, we usually take a lesson so quietly in Japan, but in America, many students tell others their opinions in a class. The culture shock affects learning other languages so we should not only practice to speak other languages but also study other countries' cultures in order to learn other languages.

'Take a look at these,' said Naylor.   He put two photos in front of Munro. Two men. There were names on the photos. One man was dark, Asian maybe. His name was Sam Tajik. The second man looked European - German or Scandinavian. Jonas Beck.   ' Sam Tajik. Jonas Beck,' said Naylor. 'Dangerous men. Terrorists.'   Naylor and Munro looked at photos which two men were reflected in. The two men are terrorists and they faced each other in the photos. Naylor and Munro felt that something bad would happen, so they looked for the two terrorists. What would happend? Could they found the terrorists?

Lesson 5

   Today’s lesson was about the way of studying foreign languages effectively. When teacher said repeating was good way, I remembered the way of studying English in high school. When I was a high school student, I had to take reading test in English class. It was we had to change Japanese into English. Of course it was difficult to do it instantly so I practiced many times at home and I took the test. I practiced it very hard at that time because I didn’t want to take the test again in teachers room if I couldn’t pass the test. However, I think the test was so effective to learn English. I don’t want to take the reading test forever but I should practice translating aloud like this test.
